Terms of Service

1. The service

The Sandwich App is a free app for discovering sandwiches: a catalog, an AI concierge ("Earl") that recommends sandwiches, a community map of real-world sandwich reviews, a pantry of recommended products, and playlists. The app is free to use; there are no purchases or subscriptions within it.

2. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to use The Sandwich App. You can browse most of the app without an account; an account is needed to save items, post a review, or chat with the concierge. You're responsible for your account and for providing accurate information. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time in the app (Profile → Delete account).

3. User content & acceptable use

You may post content such as map reviews and messages to the concierge ("User Content"). You keep ownership of your User Content and grant us a license to host and display it within the service.

There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. You agree not to post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, defamatory, spam, or that infringes anyone's rights. Community reviews are checked before they appear, and we may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms.

Every piece of User Content can be reported in the app, and you can block another person so you no longer see their content. We review reports of objectionable content and act on them, typically within 24 hours.

4. The AI concierge

"Earl" generates recommendations and replies using AI. Responses may be inaccurate or incomplete and are for general, food-related information and entertainment only — they are not professional advice (including dietary, allergy, or medical advice). Always use your own judgment and check ingredients and allergens yourself.

5. Third-party services

The app integrates third-party services to function, including Anthropic (the AI), Google (places & weather), music providers, and external links (e.g. retailer pages). Your use of those services is subject to their own terms, and we aren't responsible for third-party content or availability.

6. Intellectual property

The service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by The Sandwich App and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy or redistribute them without permission.

7. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Sandwich App is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

8. Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for conduct that violates these terms.

9. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
