History

Sam LaGrassa's traces to a family in the Boston meat and deli trade since 1916, with the current sandwich shop on Province Street a downtown fixture for decades. It's strictly a weekday-lunch operation — open just a few midday hours — slicing and steaming its own corned beef and pastrami and moving a crowd of office workers through fast. The pastrami on rye is the order to beat.
